I am available to join your campus, consortium, or organization for a multi-session program on neurodiversity in education, including workshops that discuss the history and context of neurodiversity, how Universal Design for Learning (UDL) can be used as a pedagogical model to respond to neurodiversity, and how a neurodiversity perspective can be brought to classroom “pressure-points” such as class discussions, labs, and group assignments. This program can be conducted in any modality (on-site, remote, or a combination).
Sample schedule (for a Winter semester)
January: Kick-off program. Introduction to neurodiversity for educators workshop and Q+A session (talk and discussion)
February: UDL and neurodiversity: A friendship worth fostering (workshop)
March: Group work, “participation”, and neurodiversity (workshop)
April: Teachers as learners: Exploring your own learning needs and relationship to neurodiversity (workshop)
Throughout semester: One-on-one or small group meetings with instructors and staff to implement strategies from workshops (including UDL approaches to supporting neurodivergent students and design strategies for more inclusive group learning activities)
Please contact me to discuss bringing this offering to your organization or campus. I have customized both the workshops and the schedule for previous partners and would be happy to do so for you.
