Newsletter and Professional Development Circle

My newsletter Beyond the Scope began as a project to explore faculty development topics that are not typically covered in introductory programming in Centers for Teaching and Learning. As I have continued to write the newsletter, it has become a place that I write about the intersection of neurodiversity, accessibility, and the higher ed teaching and learning landscape. Some popular posts have included one on “Navigating Access Friction in Teaching” and “Neurodiversity and UDL: A Friendship Worth Fostering.”

In addition to regular posts, I also offer a subscription to Beyond the Scope Circle, a community in which I provide support to instructors, staff, and administrators about topics related to neurodiversity and accessibility. Each month subscribers are invited to:

  • A live discussion of a current topic in teaching and learning
  • An “ask me anything” thread in which I respond to reader questions in writing
  • Open office hours, in which subscribers can drop in to chat, request help and advice, or find resources or new connections.
